Recipe of the month

At Destudi we are always looking for new ways to use up our ever increasing numbers of egg whites. Did you know that you can successfully freeze, defrost and then use at your convenience all your left over egg whites.
One egg white fits nicely in the iceblock cube of your ice tray.
If you have a favourite recipe that uses lots of egg whites please email it me.

Delicious Nutty Crisps


1 cup chopped peanuts ( or choose your favourite nut or combination of )
1 cup dessicated or shredded coconut
4 cups cornflakes
3 tbs melted butter
3 egg whites
1 cup castor sugar
1 tsp vanilla essence

1.    Place nuts, coconut and cornflakes in a bowl.
2.    Whisk egg whites to a stiff froth and gradually
beat in sugar and then add the vanilla.
3.    Add the dry mixture and lastly add the melted butter.
4.    Mix well and then place in small heaps on a well greased tray.
5.    Bake in a moderate oven until lightly browned.
6.    Allow to stand until firm but not completely cold,
then remove carefully with a knife.
